Apples to oranges. Legal drugs are for more available and easier to get. The effects of illegal drugs aren't simply people dying from them, but the social aspects of them as well. Never in a million years would a drug dealer reports his earnings to the IRS if he were to be able to sell drugs legally. Also, the people whom he sells drugs too tend to not earn an honest living as their entire lives are spent doing drugs. They don't hold down a job, don't pay taxes and don't contribute anything positive to society.
